Mission
Statement
The
Phelps County Board for the Developmentally Disabled
was established to oversee the expenditure of County
tax funds collected specifically to provide services
for County residents with developmental disabilities.
The nine Board members are appointed by the Phelps
County Commission.

Services
Available/Provided/Purchased
This
Board does not provide services. Instead, it makes
money available to Not-for-profit organizations
that provide services to Phelps County residents
with developmental disabilities.
Referral/Eligibility
Not-for-profit
organizations that provide services to Phelps County
residents request funds on a yearly basis. Requests
are submitted to the County Clerk’s office
in September; the deadline is the third Friday in
September. The Board then meets with representatives
of the individual agencies in November. In December,
the Board submits a budget to the County Commission
for final approval.
