Mission Statement

The mission of Madison County Council for Developmentally Disabled shall be to serve mentally retarded and developmentally disabled citizens of Madison County and surrounding areas by increasing community awareness and prevention, providing needs assessment and referral services, habilitation, intervention and respite care, training and employment opportunities, educational and recreational opportunities, residential and transportation assistance, and other support programs consistent with improving the quality of living for mentally retarded and developmentally disabled individuals. All programs and services provided by or funded from MCCDD will be consumer oriented developmental programs, as opposed to custodial programs, with a strong emphasis toward consumer choice and community integration.
